From what I've heard from a few UAW members, the blame rests largely on Shawn Fain and the socialists (apparently, they are literal, card-carrying socialists) he has as his closest advisors, not with the UAW membership nor with the CEOs. Fain's demands were pipe dreams that would kill the Big 3, and he kept them non-negotiable for far too long.now the combined stupidity of CEOs and Unions
My grandpa had some 16.5 on a pickup circa 1982ish. They all eventually popped.Maybe I am just too hard on vehicle tires.
Every one of mine were 15" and maybe that is where the issue lies.
The last time I ran those brands was over 20 years ago.
Maybe they got better.
My son said his Semi truck tires in Michelin are really good.
The plant in Ardmore mixes rubber for other Michelin facilities as well as Goodyear in Lawton. Just a temperature thing, it’s mixed hot and then has To be reheated to finish making into a tire.I heard about this today from my youngest son. In fact, we drove by that plant in Ardmore on our trip to Waco and back. However, I have questions:
They are stating that "rubber mixing" will still be done there, but if they aren't building the tires there from that mixed rubber, where are they shipping the "mixed rubber," and how does that product get shipped to where it is usable at another plant, and how does that other plant get the shipped rubber to a state to where they can build tires with it?
