All of you saying take it to the track is showing how disconnected you are from the general public.

There isn't a place you can go that is of a reasonable distance within okc...there is no place for them to just gather and admire each others cars without some Karen freaking out.

Before you say blah blah back in my day...we did this back in the 90s with our MR2s and integras, thing is that we have NW39th and many places where people didn't really mess with us.

Cops were cool for the most part, then okc pd bought those Camero's to bait people into racing. It was that time I stopped going.

There is NOTHING for the youth of okc! Used to they let you do drifting in Remington park....most that happens is tire marks! Oh Jesus anything but that!

Cops won't do anything in these major cities, but it doesn't stop the rogue cop that will drive down the Long Island Expressway in NY...attempting to run a motorcycle off the highway!

You push these kids you know they will strike back, and with gun laws in Oklahoma....do you think there was only what was listed that was there?

Don't know the exact solution to this, but I do know that this event will NOT stop them. It will only make them do it bigger.

I think "it depends". Street racing in town, versus drag racing in the country - pose distinctly different risks to the general public. The punishment should be in relation to the risks and danger (to others).

Sure, "Take it to the track" is a safe answer - but there are only (3) 1/4 mile drag strips in Oklahoma. (See website)

The "nuclear option" is such a beautiful hyperbole solution. It can be applied to almost everything.

No car insurance? CRUSH THE CAR!
Out of date tag? CRUSH THE CAR!
Tail-light out? CRUSH THE CAR!
Slow car in left lane? CRUSH THE CAR!

Or....
Instead of complaining of the symptoms - maybe we could talk about the root-cause and/or possible amenable solutions?

...And maybe the punishment should be in relation and proportion to the crime?

Even back in my day if you were street racing you were arrested, your car was impounded, and usually your dad kicked your azz to boot. Stop making excuses for bad behavior. They just want to show off their cars, that is why cruising was invented. You do not take over a street or private property.

There's also a track in South Norman. It used to be a go kart place, but they allow drifting there too.

67 stang out dragged a comaro, got a ticket . cop let other driver go . I said why did other driver not get a ticket cop said because you won. Think cop was chevey guy.

What kind of mouth breather thinks this is unfair or unreasonable? There's a car show every weekend, go. There are multiple tracks, go sign up and race. Got a beef; find an abandoned back road and don't call attention to yourself. Because apparently being a public nuisance is what the real activity is and I hope they teach them a lesson.
