If my wife wanted to hit a male strip club I'd be fine with it.

If she suddenly wanted to start having lunch with one guy several times a week, I'd worry.

The Chip-n-dales thing is just girls having fun. Not building an attraction

If your SO is cool with it carry on. I know my wife would not be kosher with me going on a vaca with another woman nor would I be cool with her going with another dude. Old fashioned? Lack of trust? Nah just normal caution.

Dudes who cheat are generally just in it for sexual relations. Women tend to grow close emotionally to their extra-marital partners.
Not saying it's the case or correct 100% of the time, but it could obviously give some people pause.

Also, the neckbeard misogynists you referred to in your other thread often hang around like flies, for the off chance a woman has a moment of weakness with their fidelity. Being close to their target when they snap helps their chances, with the possibility of instilling negativity along the way.

True, but to be fair to the pure-religious types, only a couple of dissenters I've had to hear have been such. Most are shacked up, depraved, formerly promiscuous hedonists arguing the "muh man/woman best not so much look at anyone else below the eyes" argument, not "a man and a woman shall not cavort in public unless wed before God." argument. 90% of people who have **** to say do so out of jealousy/insecurity or whatever it is, not religion.

Anyways, interesting topic. Seems a juvenile thought process to me. I was taught people are people and you should be friends with anyone you want.

I wouldn't consider it a juvenile thought process, it's more biological. It's inate. most male animals will fight over a females. There is a pecking order, one male usually gets to mate with the females.

It's just built into the biology of the sexes.

Hiding from all you crazy people!!!
Most guys will not hang out or be friends with a chick he's not attracted to. Girls are different, they can be "just friends" with a guy. Guys, no we are just sitting back waiting for our oppertinty to fawk them.
As for me, I'm not a fan of my wife/GF/etc going out with other guys alone. And I can guarantee you they wouldn't be cool with me going out with some other chick alone!

Honestly you're jus putting yourself in situation that could turn bad at any time.

There is a lot of projection and generalized (even sexist) statements in this thread.

I'm really starting to see the basis of those Islamic laws barring women travelling without a male relative escort.

For me, it's about respect.

I respect my wife, and I respect my buddies. I'm not very prude at all, and really blunt, so it's not about avoiding an issue by being passive-aggressive. It's about avoiding a tarpit.

I want wife to know that she's the only female I pal around with. And my buddies know I'm not going to be mr sexy to their ladies when they are gone. It's not weird, it's polite.

I have no issue being around females (ie: buying a gift for a friend, planning something, or texting some help) but it better be for a reason other than just killing time or hanging out.

If I'm cutting up and taking it easy with a female that isn't my wife, there are other people involved, mark it down.

Quick test: Is there ANYTHING concerning the friend or how you act with them that, however innocently, YOUR significant other or theirs does NOT know?
If the answer is YES to even the smallest thing, WATCH OUT.

There can be a friendship ONLY as long as it is forced to be by one/both. Complete openness is the safety valve, but I read a double blind psychological study that supports what Steve Harvey said. Usually it is the woman that controls the nature of a relationship, and it can completely change in one day. When asked in secret for the study, the man most often would welcome the change.

That said, I've had several female friends that were just friends, and worked with several females in the military that were strictly off limits to anything but professional interaction. Depends on your values and maturity. Expect scrutiny and deal with it.
