Taylor who? …..kidding, I don’t live in a hole but I haven’t heard any of her music. We gotta remember the generation obsessed with her are the same ones eating Tide Pods, tablespoon fulls of cinnamon and can’t go 5 minutes without reporting some part of their life on Facebook or TikTok. Not a whole lot of substance to them.

Same with me. I see her on the news quite frequently, but I have never heard her music that I remember.

I am not a big fan of most of her music but... she has a few songs that are ok... Since I retired in 2011 I coach high school swimming so I deal with high schoolers everyday... and I can tell you she is a big hit... I play her songs because they request it... but then again I play Eminem, ice cube, lots of rap, also classic rock and pop... but swift is the most requested for our swim playlists at the moment.. I play her songs that have a beat... workout type music..
Every generation has their music icons that the older generations just dont get. frank Sinatra and the rat pack, Andrews sisters....... buddy holly, chuck berry, hank Williams. bee gees, queen, kiss, willie nelson.... motley crue, Ozzy Osbourne, bon jovi, garth brooks... it never ends same gimmick new musician... Britney spears replaced by Katy Perry she was replaced by Taylor Swift and there will be someone else, the new "it" artist to replace Swift as well... eventually swift will loose it and mentally not be able to handle the stress and pressure and then the new "it" artist will take her place on top...

Some of y'all are going full retard with this in how serious you're taking Taylor Swift lol. Popular music artists is not a new thing or a phenomenon tied to any one particular generation.

I agree, but it's not just celebrities that people make into god like idols. Politicians are usually just celebrity wanna-bes, that couldn't dance, sing, or act, and were to butt ugly for porn stars! Humans have always placed other humans upon a pedestal, gang leaders, cult leaders, tribal chiefs, royalty, two bit dictators, politicians, etc. and I have never understood the need to do that?
