Legalizing Marijuana

I just don't see a reason it needs to be legalized. I seem to be in the minority here though

it needs to not be illegal. employers can terminate responsible users, minor offenses land good people in prison, and strip them of their other rights... if it were legal, there would be less demand for weed from the various cartels, it could be grown locally. but, police departments wouldn't be able to seize as much property, and they and prison systems would lose funding...

Why should someone play God and say that people can't touch a plant that's been part of His creation for ages?

Remember, you can't grow a plant that has natural medicinal and industrial benefits, but you can walk down to Walmart and buy plants that can cause you or your dog heart failure by ingesting only a few leaves (or boiling a few leaves as in tea).

Oddly, the criteria for Schedule I completely contradicts several government patents on marijuana.

According to those who keep marijuana illegal, marijuana is evil and makes you do evil things (see: Reefer Madness), while meth is good for kids (see: Desoxyn).



While marijuana has been shown to treat (and in some cases, cure) cancer better than many currently available legal treatments, tobacco has been shown to cause cancer. Yet, it is perfectly okay for me to till up some land, plant some tobacco seeds, nurture the plants, harvest the plants, and cure the plants, and make my own cigars, cigarettes, and pipe tobacco, while on the other hand I'd face 10 years in prison if I were to do the same with marijuana. (Remember, if you and/or your dwelling contains a food scale, ziplock baggies, and cash, you meet the criteria for "possession w/ intent to distribute". And in some DA's jurisdictions, all you need is the cash to get charged with it and you'll find a bunch of lawyers who don't want to go to court who'll tell you to plea out without negotiation, thus forever forfeiting that cash and any other assets the local law enforcement decided to seize as "likely bought with drug money".)

Ya know, whats really funny ,is we have these entities that say were broke, cant find or cut enough to stay afloat.
Yet we have this taxable item that could probably pay All the bills and then some.
Get rid of half the dea, prisoners could tend the fields....and in a few years ...We could be Rich...Stinkin Rich ,I tell ya.....naww makes too much sence , wouldnt need the think tanks an officers, prisons couldnt make as much money
just sittin, chillion..... ;
