I think the biggest problem we have is an utter inability to speak plainly of the problem itself. For instance, no other group in the U.S. would be allowed to practice outright misogyny without condemnation, particularly from the left. No other group would be allowed to call for violence, due to a perceived or actual sleight to their religion. No other group would be ignored for attempting to combine religion and legal jurisprudence.

All of these things are utter anathema to the American way of life, yet they are frequent refrains in the practice of Islam. Do Americans have a right to practice Islam? Absolutely. Do they have a right to practice it any way they see fit without scrutiny or condemnation? Absolutely not!

Until we liberate our freedom of speech from the social fascism that's holding it hostage, we'll never even crack the shell of this nut. :ugh2:
I agree with most of what you're saying here. So, one thing that would help is semantics...to simply call all this s$hit "religious extremism" regardless of particular ideology/denomination.

It's a bunch of PC ********. How many more terrorist acts here in America will it take? The enemy is not the Methodists, the Baptists, not the Catholics, and not the Jewish. It is not the Buddhists, the Agnostics...it is Muslims that are doing this. It is radical Islamic crazies that are killing our citizens on our soil.

When it comes to recruiters, maybe the Army should rephrase their "Be an Army of one" to "Be an Army of none" and their "Be the best you can be" to "Be the deadest you can be". Army recruiters have about the same rights to protect themselves as 7-Eleven clerks, pizza delivery people, etc., etc.

In the name of Christianity? Links please...

Quite frankly, I don't think calling it "religious extremism" or even "Islamic extremism" is enough. We have to be willing to state as fact that certain elements of modern day Islam, as practiced around the globe, are not compatible with our Constitutional Republic. Sharia Law, fatwas, female genital mutilation, honor killings and other forms of institutionalized misogyny, cruel and unusual punishments such as stoning and beheading, not to mention unchecked aggression and terrorist acts, all of these are incompatible with the American ideology.

If you believe in any of these things in the name of your "God", then you have no place here.

Paul Hill, James Kopp, Eric Rudolph, and Scott Roeder would disagree with you, as well as organizations like Army of God and Lambs of Christ.

Larry McQuilliams, Phineas Priesthood.

You shouldn't be throwing these out without making two VERY crucial distinctions.

One: All of these are resoundingly and categorically rejected by the overwhelming majority of Christians in America and specifically religious leaders.

Two: All of your examples combined are responsible for one death more than the Chattanooga killer alone.

Your examples are so dissimilar to global Islamic terrorism as to not even be in the same hemisphere. You're comparing apples to baby strollers and doing the subject an injustice. :(

A nation full of christians would never advocate mass murder or mutilation. Just ask the Jews.

How about we roll back time just a few decades and look at the christian led KKK?

Blacks, and Jews aren't enough? How about the gays?

Not apples to apples but christianity has a history of brutal violence just like islam. It's just more convenient now that they can cherry pick which gospel they want to follow. If everyone followed the Old Testament, then we'd be shoulder to shoulder with some of the extreme muslims.

Islamic terrorism is a more immediate and obvious threat to all of us, but if you're a particular demographic it's all the same.

In the end, the marines just need a way to protect themselves from whatever may come their way.
