So, I'm stuck here in Branson...

Just remember it could always be worse. You could be stuck in NYC visiting times square right now. You think Branson is high.... HA! They can't even sell a burger at McDonalds for regular price.

I know how it is to feel like you are out of your element but just sit back and relax. And for the 3 to 4 hours you have to watch some guy try and sell you stuff. Take some headphones and a book, or better yet a tablet and some earbuds.

We went to Branson once. ONCE! We, too, sat through one of them there sales pitches. The guy who did it was a real ass. He and I very nearly came to blows ... literally. Terrible trip. There is absolutely nothing in Branson I need or want. Now, a trip like @dennishoddy takes, I might go for!

If you stay away from the strip in Branson you can have a good time. They have open air markets and music and a train along the river.

I have absolutely no desire to go to Branson or to buy a timeshare. I dunno if they still do it now, or if it's just a sometimes thing, but at Bass Pro in OKC a year or so back, they had these young women up near the front hound the crap outta you to go to Branson "for free". Right; where do I sign?

Yeah, that's how we wound up here. My daughter was in Bass Pro and got one of those package deals. She paid something like $165 for 4 days/3 nights in the Hampton Inn. You also got a $50 Bass Pro gift card and when you complete your tour/sales pitch, you get a $50 Mastercard good to use virtually anywhere.

The guy selling the thimeshare wasn't too pushy. We never got cross ways or anything. Hell, if anything, he felt sorry for us and said we probably wouldn't benefit from this after I told him we take an actual, bonafide, leave the house vacation about every 10 years or so.

We are home bodies and very boring people.

You were very fortunate. The guy we got was so pushy and so obnoxious even my wife got royally ticked off! That takes a LOT! She was ready to take him out, and I thought she was pi$$ed at me for being so rude to him! NOPE! For once, she was right behind me!

Hmmm...but could you go and stay at the hotel and do whatever you swant and skip the sales pitch and forgo the $50 Mastercard? Or do you HAVE to sit through the sales pitch?
