i was thinking about this myself earlier.

I hope it will spur a discussion about our health system.

I suspect many places will push forward with more automation and reduce the reliance on workers when it can. I also wonder what future discussions about minimum wage and such will look like. Right now there are a lot of undervalued jobs that are now considered 'essential' and i think that will be part of the discussions going forward.

I heard the other day that some (could’ve been all) these cruise companies aren’t even US taxpayers. That being said, how does these US economy benefit from them? If I’m wrong, tell me. I pretty much couldn’t care less about any company that Americans spend a bunch of money with that doesn’t help our economy.

Not sure either but I think most cruise ships are registered in other countries

I agree with the health system discussion but they need to leave the" free" tag line out of it. They do need to get competition back in place. ACA took the some what affordable price of insurance I had and blew it out of the water and straight into I have to eat and pay bills but I make too much for assistance!! Luckily we found a monthly payment Doc who takes care of most of our needs but if we have an emergency.... we are screwed!!

What are you calling undervalued but essential jobs?

i wont pretend to know the ins and outs of what is needed to fix it, but i do know that our system ain't working. We've got too many laws designed to protect profits and not people. As someone 'stuck' in a state with terrible health options, i'm supporting a lot of unwell people because i can't shop across state lines.

And i mean there are jobs that many people think of as deserving of low pay, but are suddenly very needed right now. Things like warehouse workers, grocery store workers, even fast food workers, that are keeping things running for a lot of people. Probably could include truck drivers and the like, as well. People who often talk about deserving more pay, but are dismissed because they aren't doctors and such.

Stuck here as well , the deserving of low pay .. that is a loaded discussion. Paying some one $15 an hour to flip burgers leads to mediocrity,BUT, that is my opinion. We keep hearing how America has moved into a service society but what I see is a bunch of Americans that are unwilling to bust their ass to learn a trade. Construction industry has a huge amount of openings but so many of today's youngsters feel they can walk straight into a well paying position with zero experience. If you are unwilling to take the steps to improve your lot in life than enjoy your $9 an hour job. You get out of life what you put into it and asking the government to mandate your betterment in my opinion is just lazy. The work is out there , go find it.

I worry how unquestionable...everyone, listened.

Soon,....these two-bit hustler, political, petty tyrants and dictators...will soon "try"...in a blue cities...of looking for someone, seal off a area (for your safety) ...then proceed a house to house search, shot dogs sorry...but.

You young ones will see another ...extend use of "locking down" by the petty tyrants and dictators....wonder what the next will be...school shooting,...escaped mental patient .....someone speeding...

I worry the high loss of jobs are going to push people into more criminal behavior out of need more then wants...

Big cites are going to be a rat hole ....This my friends.....Will Be....A....Long Hot Summer.

Asswhoopings and sweating, two things that generation "Z"ers can't handle.
For a small time more people will be concerned about the way things are with the government, but this will fade out as it always does. Then it will be business as usual.
