We lost power Tuesday morning around 9:30am and got it back that night around 8:00 pm. I ran one of my big generators and loaned another one to a friend that got his power back tonight around 8:00 pm. Tuesday morning you could stand under the porch watch the limbs just dropping off trees. We have three trees

so damaged that they may have to come completely out.

Hate to see those old growth trees come down like that.

Find someone with a mill and slab those bad boys up. Make something from your old trees.
I'm thinking those folks are overwhelmed right now.
Edit, back in the day when we had our last Ice storm I went to town and cleaned up my moms place. Had several people come over and ask if I would clean up theirs. Told them I would take the big trunks for firewood but they had to deal with the brush. They didn't want any part of that. All or nothing so let them deal with it themselves.

On the bright side,,,
After emptying the spoiled food out of my fridge/freezer,,,
I took the opportunity to thoroughly scrub the entire inside surface of them.

It's cleaner now than it's been since I bought it about 9 years ago.

I have thought about buying a generator, and my wife keeps wanting a whole house, automagic generator... but the truth is our power seems to usually be back on quickly. Even the big ice storm several years ago when people were without power for a week or more, I think ours was off for about an hour. In fact I can't remember it ever being off more than about 3 hours. So I've never bought one, unfortunately that time you DO need it, you can't just run out and buy one then.

Just wondering, does your neighborhood have underground electrical? Our neighborhood does and we very rarely lose power and when we do it's usually a major grid issue, not just localized.
