Did he have the power to dismantle the Pandemic Response Team in 2018? Did he have the power to defund the program that oversaw disease research all over the world in the fall of 2019? Did he have the power to suggest that the White House should submit a budget to Congress on February 10th of this year that cut the CDC budget by 16%?
I don’t think so, but I need to do some more research.
At this moment he looks like a pretty good scapegoat.
You can’t have enough scapegoats when you’re Trump.
Yes, Trump asked for a reduction. Congress didn’t let that happen and funding actually increased

Yes, Congress prevented him from doing what he wanted to do a month after these problems were emerging.Dismantling pandemic response and oversight of research in 2019 and 2018?
Congress Couldn’t stop him from that.

It’s an interesting argument, though, and it has the advantage of being true.
He wanted to reduce the CDC budget on February 10 when he was supposedly taking this so seriously, but the damn swamp-driven do nothing congress wouldn’t let him.

Here, but occasionally There.
So Trump was going to drain the swamp?????? Or just promote and hire folks ….. Then accuse them of all sorts of things …. Fire them then. looks like if he can't hire people, he shouldn't be in charge.

I'm sorry, but do you have any clue as to the number of people "in the swamp?" Lots and lots of bureaucrats in the many federal government agencies, and to be honest, Trump can't fire them all. As for hiring, a lot of those people have to be confirmed by the Senate and they aren't doing much to confirm anyone other than judges.

And, speaking of judges, are you aware that Trump has nearly "balanced" the judges in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals?

Clay, you need to review some of your own remarks on here. You shouldn’t need your old grandpa ignernt to remind you of what happened way back in the winter of 2020.
