I walk out the back door and shoot whatever I want at my dirt berm. If its raining, set up a bench in the reloading shop, lower the door, and get after it.
We have 4 targets hanging in the garage including the one from my wife's very first range outing where she, having never handled a handgun before, put a 3-4" grouping in the silhouette's sternum and face from 7 yards. There's better paper specimens out there, sure, but given the circumstances, I think that target deserves to be hung above the fireplace. Despite me sharing gun logic for many years, her skills that day were the biggest thing responsible for her turning from your typical Brady Bill supporter to someone who has a new-found respect for firearms. She's far from a gun nut, but closer than she's ever been before.
