Wife saw this story on her phone a day or so ago. It is about a brother and sister that rented a Tesla to drive from Florida to Kansas. I'm not surprised by the outcome.

Brother and Sister Rent Tesla

It seems that they had to spend a LOT of time recharging the Tesla. They stated that it needed charging 6 times in one day.

1,400 mile trip or so.
What the guy said at the end of the story.
Steavenson said Hertz told him to go to the closest branch to get a new car. "However, they don't have Teslas there or not even the equivalent, so I'm headed back in a Nissan Rogue Sport," he said. "At least it's economical."

That vehicle will get 25-30 mpg.

Buckle up, bros. The trend is that ICE vehicles will be outlawed by 2035. Either you'll go public transportation (yippee!) or EVs. The plan is to limit us re travel. They're going to make it so difficult to travel (cf the OP's article) that we'll just stay home. And what will "home" be?

The plan is for all us peons ("Peon": anybody not a billionaire.) to be confined to "15 minute" cities. Google "15 minute" city to see what our Masters have planned for us.

Recommend to use a regular gas vehicle. Any trip using an EV is going to require many hours of charging unless you use a pay-for-charge system or have a 240 outlet with an EV connection.

Sales of tow-behind generators should go through the roof.
Isn't that a catch-22 whereas the EVs get considerably lower mileage on a charge when towing? OMG - what are we going to do? Maybe a windmill or solar panel on the roof while driving to charge it? Why is it even the common folks know an all electric mandate is sure to fail miserably yet our leaders in D.C. keep pushing for it? Can you say kickbacks? Re-election? Just pisses me off to no end but hey, that's what politicians do right - on both sides of the aisle so no surprise here.
