Recommend me a home security provider

I've been building a security system as a side project (electrical engineering student), but with all the burglaries lately, I think I've decided to pull the trigger on a monitored system instead. Anybody got any pointers for me? I've been looking at ADT, which I've seen crappy customer service reviews for, but I've also been looking at Guardian, which I haven't seen any reviews for. Local vs National? Any other providers I need to know about? Thanks!

Stay away from the National chains, Use a local company, Their service is alot better!!!

they are unmonitered but infinately more effective, it's alittle company outta New Haven called Mossberg, I have the model 500 works great and the response time for getting the police there is much more quickly than just one of those annoying alarm sounding sirens.

Guardian has worked ok for us.

Used REC when I lived in Del City. Use Boyd Security in Norman.
I would go with a local company!
