There have been too many terrible shootings but there is something especially compelling about this one. The photo of the bullet holes peppering the glass wall and the promotional signage for the Marines and the gun buster sign. The smirking look of the shooter in the photo that has been posted. The fact that he was raised here and graduated from college here and was "well liked" by his classmates. The unsatisfying perfunctory statements by the President. We need leadership but we are not getting it.

Could there have been anything more predictable than a lone wolf attack on a military recruiting office? Why did our soldiers die without the least bit being done to protect them?

The FBI was in the lead within 6 hours calling it domestic terrorism. Potus called it a lone wolf shooter or something like that in a typical misdirect to protect his legacy. I'm sure the dead marines will be found killed by workplace violence.

Edit: Potus called the shooter, "lone gunman"

F:censored: him, F:censored:his family, F:censored: his religion of peace, hope he burns in hell. The FBI has probably been corrected and reprimanded by the White House for calling it domestic terrorism. Some clever functionary in the executive branch is working late tonight to come up with a new term that is palatable.

How many millions and perhaps billions have been spent to protect the "homeland" against terror and they can't do anything to make it harder to attack military recruiting offices? Pathetic. Will anyone lose their job over this? Highly unlikely unless the public raises a loud enough outcry. Who is ultimately responsible for the safety of our troops? The President but he shows no signs of interest. I suppose he is "terribly disapointed" in the people who call this terrorism.

More info coming out. Unconfirmed yet, but the father of the shooter is not a US flag waving patriot.

Edit: Concerning the gun buster sign on the door of the recruiting center. There is a lot of backlash coming out that wonders why soldiers trained for war and current intel saying ICIS is targeting the US Military requires the soldiers to remain unarmed?

The recruiting centers are gun free zones as has been discussed. That's because a 1992 directive written by George HW Bushes administration, then signed and implemented by the Clinton Administration severely limited firearms on military bases and offices except "when there is a reasonable expectation that life or DOD assets will be jeopardized if firearms are not carried" (Dept of Defense Directive AD-272 176, Feb 25, 1992)
The military and Potus needs to re-examine that in lite of todays society, and what's happening in the world today.

We have military murders in Ft Hood, Ft. Dix, The Navy Yard, all by islamist.

James Comey, the FBI director, said 8 days ago in congressional testimony that the agency is overwhelmed and he can't see stopping these indefinitely because his resources are being overwhelmed.

Loving the bullet holes surrounding the gun buster sign.

The gun buster sign really stood out. Watched the coverage on multiple news sources after the story broke and before we knew the tragic outcome. Also from the mouths of those reporting or "contributing" I heard the words "high capacity clip" and "the shooter's arsenal."

SecDef and DoD should just nut up and admit that Command & Control concerns far outweigh any safety concerns for U.S. service members.

Anyone who's ever served in the military knows this is the absolute truth. :disappoin

This is 100% truth and we will not see them armed as a result. Yes it pisses me off as much as anyone. Bitching about the gunbuster signs makes great talking points but nothing will change as a result.

Shooter obviously used a Glock AR-47.
