There is a commercial sound supressor that silences coughs if you cough into it. Check Cabella's, etc. CB
Might have to look into that myself. Always seem to be sick come blackpowder season...
Delsym is the strongest OTC cough suppressant lasts for 12 hours as well. I know it has a kid on the bottle but before I took Nyquil I would grab some cough drops (with menthol) and take a dose of Delsym.
