That and there's just more and more in general each year I think. SW KS has had elk for a long long time, and they are 10x worse with drought than we are, and there's hardly any water here at all.
Better than that, I live in Bluff Creek.
See them all the time in the wooded area on meridian behind the damn on Hefner. I’m sure you see them grazing at the water treatment also.
Seems too moist
We got a lot of'em in Bluff Creek, as Mr Snattle stated above.
My backyard fence is on the big empty field (which they are mowing down today) and my neighbor feeds them every night. We get usually something like 25 or so over an evening time, not all at once, come and go.
The big field, the park just east of that, is Pat Murphy Park, and there are great walking trails there, you see a lot of critters if you can just keep your eyes open and be quiet.
I love watching them, especially the spotted fawns.
