Hornady 230gn HP-XTP + P

Friends, I just bought a box of Hornady 230gn HP-XTP +P cartridges for my 1911 Rock Island Armory .45 5" gun. I have never shot this powerful a load in my gun but I have read in various forums that it should be okay to shoot these without any safety issues.

My question pertains to the "safety issue". Is it safe to shoot for both my gun and my self? The gun has about 3500 rounds through it.

if the gun is in good shape, is safe, and isnt shot out, and has a good recoil spring that doesnt have 3500 rounds on it, youll be fine

I don't think you should shoot your self, no matter how safe the gun is. ;-)
