A lineman can go to work about anywhere now, big demand if you want to learn the trade. Hard work but great job. $30 to $50 an hour depending on location and company.
And if your on shared services and go to storm ravaged areas, you can make a small fortune in a short period of time.A lineman can go to work about anywhere now, big demand if you want to learn the trade. Hard work but great job. $30 to $50 an hour depending on location and company.
My uncle is a retired OG&E lineman. Not long after he retired, they had an outage that affected his house, so he drove down to where the guys were working to see what was happening. They said they needed help, and asked if that's why he was there.Thank you!!! Trust me, I don’t want power going off ever, would rather stay home with family. Until you have been on poles or in a bucket for hours upon hours in cold, ice or rain weeks at a time it’s hard to explain. Yes I can see the inconvenience, it is aggravating. I promise where I work we strive on improving system daily, thru tree trimming and line upgrades. Take a deep breath enjoy the quiet and have a family chat.
During the big ice storm, it was not a good idea to wear any clothing with an OGE logo on it. There were some really unhappy folks out there. My uncle is a retired OG&E lineman. I don't think he actually laughed in their faces, but I believe the phrase "" was involved.

Same folks who are pissed off at the airline when the plane is broken or there is really bad weather and they can't leave on time. Personally, I'd rather fly on a fully functioning aircraft and not into bad weather.Seriously? Like it’s their fault Mother Nature knocked their power out? That’s crazy.
