Just out...President Trump announces military effort in securing the southern border. This supports the idea that the President will do an end run around Congress and get the wall built using funds recently allocated to the military.

President Donald Trump said he plans to deploy U.S. military forces to protect the nation's southern border with Mexico while the border wall is being constructed.

"Until we can have a wall and proper security we're going to be guarding our border with the military. That's a big step," Trump said Tuesday at the White House.

"We are going to be doing things militarily," Trump added, saying that he discussed the idea with Defense Secretary James Mattis.

interesting. I'm not terribly familiar with The Posse Comitatus Act, but it shouldnt be a big deal as long as theyre not there to act as law enforcement. right?

Depends on who you ask, and what the troops are doing. Are they armed and actively patrolling for illegal aliens who are attempting to enter into the United States, or are they static and just observing and reporting incursions to the Boarder Patrol/ DHS?

Here is how I read it:

The President is a builder. He brags about being a builder.
He promised to build a wall.
That extremely large military funding in the Omnibus funding bill? He is going to use it to have the military build a wall.
