Conceal carry class certificate expiration..

Does anyone know(I'm sure someone does) how long the certificate from your conceal carry lasts? What I am asking is if you take the class how long do you have to get your CC? I have a buddy who took the class with me and never got/filed for his permit...It was over two years ago...Just let me know..Thanks

It's popular for instructors to tell you that, though. I don't know if it's part of the misinformation in the instructor's book or not.

They don't expire and the certs are not required to have a completion date.

My dad finally turned his in 12 years after he took the class. It was accepted without question

The initial 1996 Instructor information meetings, held by OSBI & CLEET, are one source of the misinformation.

Instructors were told (yes, I was in attendance) that the certificates expired after 3 years.

As otherwise mentioned in this thread, there has been no legislative or administrative follow-up to make the certificates "sunset". There has been at least one legislative attempt to do so. It died in committee.

For many years, I've been telling my students that there is currently no "sunset".

As stated, they never expire. I even tell my students that if they lose their certificate, they can give me a call and I will issue another one back dated of course.

I had a concealed carry license that expired in 2001, would I have to take the class again to get a new license, or would the OSBI still have my old one on file? I took my class at the range that used to be located at May and Reno, it's no longer a range and I don't have a copy of my certificate. I would like to get legal again.
