You do realize that at one point this season the SEC had 3 teams ranked #1, #2 and #3, right? You also realize that the SEC has won the last 5 Nat. Championships and after this year it will be 6? Try and use some facts to support your argument instead of just spouting off, it makes you sound much more knowledgeable even if you arent.

This would be a valid point if there was a playoff system in college, but since there isnt, then we run the risk of having a repeat in the National Championships, its the 2 BEST teams, not the 2 BEST teams that havent played each other yet. Frankly I wouldnt mind seeing Oregon have another crack at LSU, before OSU has a shot at them. But thats just me.

The facts are on my side. The facts you site are irrelevant. The real facts are that the Big 12 has a better record than the SEC. What people with a hard on for the SEC want to claim the rankings are, means absolutely nothing, and the bowl games are bearing that out.

All this proves is that the coaches favor the SEC in the Championship game, not that they're better teams. Without the "best" teams playing each other, assigning the term "best" is nothing more than speculative. It has no foundation on which to be supported other than the beliefs of a few individuals.

Your "fact" is really a "factoid". It's such a solid factoid that it's downright "truthy"! :D

Which is only PART of the equation that goes into the BCS.

OSU fans really do only pay attention to part of the facts when it suits them. Going by their conspiracy theory rankings when applied to the bowls.......... look who the Big 12 has played in bowls this year. Iowa, Cal, Washington, Rutgers, Northwestern, Stanford, and UNC.

Get real people, 4 of those teams finished 7-6, 1 finished 6-7. It's pathetic, to claim superiority.

That is why DG said "The same BCS computers that put O-State #2". He was not arguing overall rankings which you seemed to miss. It seems like you were only paying attention to part of the facts that allowed you to make your post.

Were there any threads about the Sooners bowl game and their victory? I didn't see any if there were. Just this one about OSU being down in the first quarter and not being BCS worthy. Congrats to the Sooners and the Cowboys on the wins.

Go Pokes:)

Right, which is why I replied that it's only PART of the BCS equation. What YOU seem to miss is that OSU fans can't cherry pick rankings when they whined and cried about the same BCS that kept them out of the NC. I'm sure all those human polls are completely wrong though. :D

"Three voters -- Derrick Mayes, Bob Wagner and George Wine -- said they thought Oklahoma State was the sixth best team in the country. Mayes -- a former Notre Dame player -- and Wagner -- former University of Hawaii coach -- each had the same top six -- 1) LSU, 2) Alabama, 3) Stanford, 4) Boise State, 5) Oregon and 6) Oklahoma State. Sucks eh?

I know, I know...... BCS computers are always right? Yeah, just ask any OU fan. :teach: :faint:

Funny thing is, they seemed to have paired up Stanford and OSU nicely. It was a tough game on both sides that was won because a kicker couldn't make a routine 35yd FG in regulation. That's as close as it gets in my book.
