After careful examination, I do not think there is any way it makes it out of committee. It goes way too far. My mind is actually at more ease now. The NFA requirements, and including pistols will kill this bill in its tracks. If she had come up with something more moderate, I would hate it.
She made it extreme so she can back off of a few issues to look like she compromised but still ends up with a BS gun ban. All part of the plan.

The republicans will attempt to negotiate the minimal loss of rights resulting in her getting what she wants.
The republicans should counter at the get go with outrageous demands that children should have guns at age 12, provided by the government and other stupid things like that.
Then after negotiations, we will keep what we have.
Both sides compromise, everybody's happy.
I'm not familiar with the exacts of Senate committee procedure, but can't they debate and modify the bill within the committee? I suspect she is going for the top end like others have said in the hopes of having a fallback.

This is the wrong attitude to have about this. Just because it is outrageous does t mean that it won't get passed. You forget what kind of fools are in Washington. No matter what the bill says it is anti 2A. And that is all that matters. Either way it will be a huge blow to our rights. We can't give even an inch. Nor can we afford to sit back and do nothing.
I do not like it.
