i saw a show with a similiar story line. they were in london. one guy made a scantuary out of a hight rise apartment.
- very narrow entry
- well fortified fences and gates to come and go
- they were pretty high up which discouraged the casual walk by 'walker' like when Dale died.
- i think the prison could be made safe. they have empty hardware stores with locks, chains and all types of hardware.
- but in this story line maybe the cities are where the most walkers are????? it was that way in Atlanta.
Now food and water and sanatation is a different story.

That was the revolver hitting the floor. She dropped it when her brain exploded and she lost control of her hands.
I may have to watch it again, but I am pretty sure fubarjohnny is right. I remember a sound right after the shot, before the obvious gun hitting the floor. It sounded like brass to me.

I've noticed they do that brass-hitting-the-floor-from-a-revolver thing a lot through the series. My guess is they have a stock of sound clips they use over and over again, and I'm sure they haven't taken every gun out to get accurate recordings from each.

Yep. Easier/cheaper to do stock sounds than do every single sound 1 at a time to ensure 100% accuracy. The average person is not going to catch it.

I agree with this - the sound guy just plugs in the same "brass hitting floor" sound FX for (what they believe is) "dramatic effect". Same as in every show that shows a cop car, not in pursuit of anyone, showing up at a scene where there are already 15 other cop cars sitting around - and you hear a short "whoop whoop" siren as the car arrives! They've inserted that in editing and I'm tired of hearing it. And, while I'm on my soapbox, I'm sick of seeing foot chases on TV; movies; whatever, where the good guy with a semi-auto chases the bad guy for 10 minutes, then corners him and points the gun at him and says "Where is it??"; or "Give me the file!!"; or whatever several times, then he racks the slide back (but no round ejects) and says "I mean it!!". So you've been chasing the guy for 10 minutes with no round in the chamber?? Also; I too would have shot the kid that Carl did - after telling him clearly "drop your weapon" and he keeps on advancing with it he deserved it. Stupid is as stupid does.

Are we seriously nitpicking a 15 second scene where she shot herself? And the safety was a reference to season one where she tried to shoot Rick with the safety on.

Has anyone else heard the actor playing Rick is not happy with where the show is heading and is expected to leave the series?

They certainly need a weapons expert for consultation. The ending where Andrea is pleading for the use of Rick's revolver and she note's "I know where the safety is." ??? And in the suspenseful moment when the door is shut, leaving Michone with Andrea to shoot herself with Rick's revolver, we hear a shot ring out quickly followed by the sound of a brass shell hitting the floor. Come on, that stuff drives me crazy.
Yup! Definitely heard brass...THEN the gun drops.

I saw a lot of "gotchas" throughout this whole series...in a recent episode, Daryl had an M4 in his hand and his bow on his back as he was going into doorway...in the very next scene of him shown from the inside stepping through the door he had his cross bow in hand and no M4 to be found...LOL Heck it may have happened more than once because I seem to remember a similar deal with him getting into a car too. And the mess hall metal tables that Glenn and Maggie hid behind in the last firefight would not have stopped any rifle ammo the Gov's people were shooting from their weapons.
