Congratulations on your son's achievements. However, really consider the petroleum engineer path, or anything else related to petroleum. If it is the same as in Oklahoma, the bottom drops out every so often. Lots of rigs stacked around Oklahoma.

My son graduated from there this May with degree in mechanical engineering technology. He said it was not as easy as high school where he never studied, lol
Haha! I think the Oklahoma is coming out in you. What I mean is that you may be very much like my father in law who is a good ol' boy from Oklahoma. I've known him for 25 years and have seen him in a pair of shorts exactly two times. It was a sight to see. It was almost shocking! Not sure you'd approve of his choice of pants either. Gotta remember that he/we live about 2 miles from the beach and he spends many hours per week at a place called the Wedge in Newport Beach. It's a place I've spend many days as a ute as well. It is some crazy chit and if you are curious, look it up on youtube. The big days, there is no place like it on earth. He's a beach kid that has a lot of OK in him.
You are right. Oklahoma Panhandle winters will really make one realize the value of full pants. The summers there are enough to make one realize that between weeds and other things, full pants are the way to go.

DO NOT LET HIM GO TO TEXAS A&M!!!!! The “indoctrination” process there turns generally good kids into “know it all” a$$holes in short order, and no matter how much time passes, they never regain their normal behavior. My family has to deal with my Father in Law and my oldest son who graduated from there, and it’s sometimes tough at family gatherings to fit both their inflated heads in the same room.
I've never met you but have always enjoyed what you've posted and what you're all about. This post is fantastic. Sounds a bit like our family with some of the diehard liberals. Sometimes certain topics are off limits.
