As an employee, not as payment.
I have one of those metal boxes sticking up out the ground in my backyard. The door handle is broke and wont stay shut. I've just been using duct tape to wrap around and keep it shut. Will they replace the box with a new one, maybe smaller in size? Or will just tell me to "F" off and keep paying my bill?

I used to work for Cox.

Call tech support (405-600-8282) and tell them you have an open pedestal. They should schedule a tech to come fix it, but it will be a "whenever he has time this day" sort of thing, rather than a narrow window. You won't need to be home for it, and they won't charge anything (after all, it's their equipment). It's doubtful they'll replace the entire thing.

I have a friend that works for a Cox contractor. He basically said the same thing Commander Keen did. Just call Cox, they'll take care of it.
