I don't get it... the State Fair is actually a Prohibited Place now. This isn't the same "concealed is concealed" when carrying in a grocery store or a movie theater.

It's not a prohibited place in the context of the Unlawful Carry in Certain Places in section 1277.

Section 1290 lays out business owner rights and specifically puts the Fair issue in the context of a non-criminal act until you refuse to leave. "May be Prohibited" by the owner or operator of the property, not specifically prohibited by statute.

1290 doesn't "override" 1277. Section 1277 lays out specific property where carry is prohibited and unlawful. Section 1290 sets aside business owner rights, allows for business owners or operators to prohibit carry, and specifically makes it non-criminal to carry in/on such a property unless and until you refuse to leave.

So in other words, it's no different than walking past a sign at a grocery store or movie theater.

As one of the articles I posted elsewhere showed the idea of making all gunbuster signs carry weight of law is on the radar. The antis will likely want to run with it because then when those carrying are caught there will be an angle present to play; "look some of those gun guys are criminals", because as we know some will be caught doing it.

And as for the fair and other places part the false logic being used to justify prohibiting carry is that these places are safe because they're "protected" so you don't need to carry there.

If the dems take our state house and senate, and, God forbid, the governor's office, gun rights in this state could take a huge step backwards.
