My mom's was similar to what Danny said.

Flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder.

For grease, we always used left over bacon drippings we kept in a coffee can. Does anybody still do that these days?

I haven't had a good fried chicken meal in centuries. It seems they are just really hard to find if you don't do it yourself. Now I'm really hungry.

Same here...

Mom still has the grease can on the stovetop.

Wasn't saving bacon grease one of the things people did during WWII? Seem like it was used to make smokeless gunpowder.

I also like to use a little bacon grease on potatos before baking them.

I do similar to that Paula Deen recipe except I soak the chicken in buttermilk over night (instead of using eggs), use shortening instead of oil (I would prefer lard, just not sure where to find it), and use paprika in additional to salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Just season the chicken before dredging in flour and then shake off all excess flour to avoid burnt matter in the bottom of your frying pan.

Serve with beer.

I usually find lard in the aisle at the grocery store that has the "authentic" Mexican food items.

seasoned salt, black pepper and flour. Fry chicken a pale golden brown where the breading is "almost" ready but still very light. Pull it out of a fryer and then stick it in a smoker for atleast 10 minutes, 30 minutes is best. Smother it in honey and now you have something very very very close to BoBo's chicken without having to dodge the bullets flying at you or risk getting mugged driving to the east side of town at 1 am.
