Five Guys is good, but it is kind of expensive. Usually more than $25 for two of us, and we share an order of fries. Don't care for their fries much, I like Braum's fries as much or more than most, but FG's burger is good.
No love for Goldie's in Tulsa?
Goldie's was great many years ago. Now not so much except their coleslaw & bread n butter pickles.
Agreed its quality went to crap 15-20 years ago.
It did. The prices stayed the saem but the burgers kept getting smaller. Last time I was there (about 4 months ago) the price was up but the burgers were back to their old size.
Seems like it went downhill after it franchised.
Goldie's in claremore went out of business not long after they moved to the shopping center with chillis in it.
Goldie's here in B'ville closed, also. I think in the 10 years I've been here, I never went once. One time I did go in Tulsa, it wasn't memorable enough to prompt me to visit the one in my own backyard. Apparently no one else did, either, which is why they went out of business.
I remember eating Goldie's 20+ years ago and it was delicious. Then somewhere along the way they changed from quality meat to what had to have been frozen patties. I got a burger that was cold and raw in the middle and burnt on the outside. I know it was from frozen. Waitress wanted me to pay for half the meal since I ate the coleslaw while waiting 10 minutes for he to show up and see my burger was nasty.
