The walther p22 is a great plinker for around 275-325 used, you can't beat the S&W 5906 if you can find one.
I you like something a little different the Steyr M9-A1 in the classifieds is an interesting option. Functions like a Glock, but shaped differently. The Triangle-trapezoid sights are neat too, but not for everyone. I used to own one and may own one again some day. The service provided by SteyrUSA is superb as well.
Reasonably priced, and opinions, (especially mine), like them both. I also like Smith semis. Like the 5906, it IS heavy, but find mine dependable and accurate. 2. don't laugh, but I like the sigma sw9ve, stiff trigger, but, and I don't know why, I shoot it as well as the 5906. Also, have seen it priced at $256.95 (dealer) at Zanders and I believe, Ron Shirks. Lastly 22 cal, Smith 22a. Mines a H.B., accurate and reliable. Neat mag release, rail, grip angle, and take down. Also has a really decent trigger.
