OSBI is between a rock and a hard place.

Oklahoma law says that anyone who is “ineligible to possess a pistol due to any provision of law of this state or the United States Code” is ineligible for an SDA permit based on the mandatory preclusions.

Under United States Code, anyone who uses marijuana is a prohibited person (18-922 (g) 3).

Issuing a permit to someone who admits to using marijuana would require OSBI to ignore both state and federal law. That’s a slippery slope I suppose.
No 'slippery slope' about it. It's spelled out in black & white with no exceptions nor exemptions. Just your their .gov at work 😫

Well folks are trying to mix things together that the alphabet agents want separate.

We cant have state made suppessors, without going thru the hoops to have one, but we can have state grown pot. Heck can even grow your own now, and the feds leave you alone.

Try that with a NFA item, see what happens.

Its absurd the laws that are on the books that get a head turned away from or towards.
Ever hear the phrase "Give them enough rope and they will hang themselves"?

Don't think for a minute that the different tri-letter agencies & States aren't all on the same page. Can't think of any better way to legally take a persons guns away from them than to coddle them into believing [at the state level] that Marijuana is legal to use, then the Feds coming in and confiscating guns because having a gun and using MJ is illegal under Federal laws, the same Federal that makes sure Marijuana use remains illegal.

So you come in from a hard days work and have a couple beers or a highball, or smoke a joint, or take your prescribed pain meds and someone breaks in your house-do you have the right to protect yourself? I mean your not carrying a gun outside your premises but protecting oneself is protecting oneself.
A good and thought provoking question 👍

So does anyone want to weigh-in on this? Do you risk losing your gun to confiscation if you [lets say] hold an intruder at gun point after you've toked a bit, or do you go for that bat standing in the corner?

My view on anyone with a badge at this point is that saying someone's a good person and shouldn't be hated is the same as saying someone was a good kid but now they're a gang banger, but they're still a great kid. 🤔

There's plenty of other careers out there that they can help people without being a cop, when the majority of your duties are to incarcerate and rob people of their freedoms that's not a public servant that's a thug.

Well the obvious way to handle this type of situation is before the cops get there open a beer & have it in Your hand when they show up. “I was so nervous after the shooting that I had to have a few drinks “ They Can’t say you were under the influence prior to the shooting.
