Sir, just read a small bit about MSA. It's clear you courage in the face of adversity is only rivaled by your concern for your family(you asked for prayers for them not yourself), thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
Stan, you sound a lot like me. When GC was diagnosed with diabetes the doctor asked if we had any questions. GC said "No" and I said "Just one, when are his feet gonna fall off?" I was the only person there who thought it was funny! 
Took me several years but that sense of humor has finally rubbed off on GC. GC gets it now and we laugh all the time about stuff that doesn't work like it ought to anymore. Getting old is not for the faint of heart.
A good humor will make this a lot easier to bear in the long run. Prayers to you, sir!!
