So my wife and I decided that we need to replace one of our vehicles and we decided that it would be mine as it has the most miles and it is the vehicle of choice when we travel.
Here is my first you've gotta be sh!ttin me moment, the cost of a new similarly equipped truck is $50k. Fifty-effin-thousand dollars!
The cost was somewhat expected, but still not logical.
The next what da fuq moment is the height of the cab and tailgate of the new trucks.
The salesman is showing me a truck and I tell him, "I like it, but I'd like one with normal size tires and no lift kit". He looked at me like I was an idiot and let me know that this is the new norm.
The floor of the cab is about 4" higher than my 06 and the open tailgate is at about 36" from the ground.
Who are the engineers designing pick ups for? Is there some sort of metro sexual soccer dad society that has the ears of the engineers? I doubt that men that use their pick ups for their intended use have much appreciation for these changes, especially those of us who have legs the length of a 5'2" woman and T-Rex arms.
