Would you move to Texas if....

As America races toward European Socialism, there will be a time when many of us decide if we want to go along for that ride. But, I don't see an independent Texas (or seceeded Texas/Oklahoma republic) as being remotely possible--Uncle Sam will not let it go. Another life boat would be needed for freedom-seeking Americans.

I wonder if that location is not in Mexico. Since it would involve a great deal of wealth moving into their country, a host country might be very happy with the arrangement. I could see something of a nation-within-a-nation growing somewhere south of here. With enough incentive to Mexico (or some other Latin American country), America 2.0 could be started on a smaller scale within the borders of some other country. I'd go there if the alternative was an increasingly Marxist U.S.. But, that's just me. Your mileage may vary.

Are you serious? Wouldn't that just be the epitome of irony? As anti-immiigrant, and frankly anti-Hispanic, as many right wing conservatives are with all this anti-immigration legislation (by the way the Democratic Party thanks all of you for that), it would be absolutely a sardonic end to see them seek a "better life in Mexico." HA HA HA

Secession became a realty. I dont see it ever happening but you never know. So would you pack up the wife ,kids and pets and move to the lone star state if it became the nation of Texas?

It would seem to me that if things got bad enough for Texas to leave, Oklahoma would likely leave as the Northern Province of the Republic of Texas anyway.

For those of you who want to leave I am all for you getting out. If it is truly better in your eyes to abandon the United States and try your luck in another country then you are part of the problem Americans face in any effort to reclaim the promise of America.

If anyone can be called a conservative on this forum, it would be me with me being very much to the right. However, when I grew up, some of my friends and next door neighbors were "Hispanic." That word hardly existed back then. They were fellow Americans and fellow Okies and no one that I know of even now has a problem with those that immigrate legally. You'd think that the "super-intelligent" left would understand that words mean things.

Oh, but wait. If they did that, they wouldn't understand that the words of our founding documents meant what they meant. Instead, they always seem to want to change the conversation with a new "definition" for things. Kind of like defining a 6+1 shotgun as an assault weapon instead of a shotgun.
