From Forrest Bennett's FB page....

Rep. Forrest Bennett — Oklahoma State Representative for District 92
22 hrs ·

This is infuriating.

Voters approved SQ788. Despite what some condescending opponents have suggested, we knew what we were voting for.

By first banning popula...r forms of edible medical cannabis, and now banning smokable medical cannabis - and placing expensive restrictions on dispensaries - the Health Department seems to be doing its level best to gut the law before t even takes effect. It’s unacceptable.

I will do everything I can to reverse course on the Department’s decisions, and I bet I’ll find willing partners in the House.

I get that decisions like this make folks feel that their vote doesn’t matter—in fact that seems to be the message the Health Department is tying to send—but I’ve got to point out that this is precisely why elections DO matter. The legislative and executive branch have the power to overturn decisions made by unelected bureaucrats. We just have to have the political will to do it.

Oklahomans deserve leaders in the House, Senate, and Governor’s office who won’t undermine the will of the people. When Okies have voted on State Questions lately, we’ve chosen the progressive path a lot—we modernized alcohol laws, approved criminal justice reform, upheld the separation of church and state—but we have to also choose leaders who will uphold those decisions.

I didn’t intend for this to be a partisan post necessarily, but I’ll be voting for Democrats in November because they’re the only ones who’ve told me without equivocation that they’ll respect the will of the people. I hope you will too.

I liked everything he said till I got to the last paragraph.

Right now I wish I had about 10 acres. I would apply for a growers license. Remember, its called a weed because it can grow anywhere. Thankfully we live in a state where I can be armed to protect my crops :D
Yea, think you would be outta luck on that. Remember reading somewhere that all commercial growing had to be indoors, and a limit for non-commercial growing was x number of plants (12?).

HAHAHAHAHA! You guys just don't get it. The health dept workers want recreational pot and this is the easiest way to get it.
Make up a bunch of stupid regulations that so outrage the people that they all run out and vote for recreational pot at the next election.

Don't worry. Our state will now be spending millions of dollars defending the lawsuit that has been filed. Their attorney at the meeting even stated she didn't think they could make most the regulations that they passed. However, they did anyways.
