Congrats on the purchase !

I like my revolvers but I love my 1911's.

I don't own one and I'm not knocking Glocks, they've proven themselves to be dependable and there are probably more Glocks on the hips of LEO's around the world than any other gun.......I've owned two Glocks very briefly and sent them down the road I just like the feel of a 1911 in my hand better.

Rumor has it that Glock is coming out with a 1911.......if and when they do I'll be one of the first folks to purchase one. :)

Chip McCormick Power Mags are excellent, too. I don't care for the plastic followers in the Wilson mags myself. Had a few wear out rather quickly.
Hmmm that’s the brand I saw at R&M arms today. I passed because I was unsure of them. I will take your recommendation and grab a couple next time I’m in there!

Wait is that serious? That’d be crazy! Almost defies reality by joining two opposite forces haha… a Glock 1911

I’ve primarily been into Ruger revolvers and Glocks. I like hand loading for my revolvers because I don’t have to chase down the brass. Glocks are my defensive/workhorse/knock-around guns.

I must say I do like the feel of a 1911 better. Both shooting and looks. But I’m just so used to my Glocks that I don’t mind them either.

The Colt should be a good 1911 for you.
Remember when you get to the range that it’s not a polymer frame, striker fired high cap that you can run with a small amount of lube.
1911 pistols perform best when well lubed.
Wilson, Tripp and Chip M make really good mags I’d stick with them.
I love shooting the 1911, the trigger and ergonomics make putting bullets on target a good bit easier.
Have fun!

How well do the 10rd Wilson’s function? I have thought about buying a couple.
I used them in USPSA competitions with out failures for a couple years. Very few folks run guns/mags harder than those in competition. Good to go.
Tripp 10 round mags were also in my mag pouches. Some of the competitor’s preferred them over the Wilson’s.
Sorry to disagree with an earlier poster but Chip McCormic mags were considered junk.
I personally never ran one but that is second hand intel. Take it as you may.

Chip McCormick Mags looked pretty but failed when it came to reliability.

Chip McCormick is just the name brand. Bill Wilson (yes, that Wilson) bought the company several years ago. I've never heard anyone complain about the CM Power mags being unreliable. Never. As a matter of fact, most reviews still rave about them.

And notice I said the "Power" mags...not the standard CM mags.

I have several and they've never failed. And as much as I post about 1911s I'm pretty familiar with 1911 mags.
