I love my Amazon Prime. Living about 25 miles away from the nearest Wal-Mart or pretty much anything else, the free 2 day/3.99 one day shipping comes in very handy to me. I don't have to waste 15 bucks in fuel just to run over and grab something I need. I sometimes use the instant video option, but I have prime for the shipping, which is what it's all about.

Saying Amazon discriminates against the hard of hearing because all of the video's on a bonus add on service don't contain captioning, is like saying Wal-Mart discriminates against hungry handicapped people because they don't offer free chicken with every wheelchair.

I ain't settlin' for no wheelchair! I wants me a scooter and a Big Gulp of my Pepsi. And I want taxpayers to pay for it!

Yes, the government so selfless with all those liberal social programs. Then again, it is pretty easy to be generous when you're spending other people's money.

If selfishness = wanting to keep the hard-earned product of your own labor, and wanting to choose for yourself which social agendas to support (or not), then like Mrs. Rand said, selfishness truly is a virtue.

So you're amplifying commentary on ADA to be a statement supporting 'all those liberal social programs'? You're not as 'conservative' as you think you are.

Bitching about how unfairly you are being taxed to 'subsidize' these codes are akin to griping about traffic laws, building codes, and life/safety codes.

You think businesses are just going to eat the cost of implementing these regulations out of the goodness of their heart? No, the costs get passed onto the consumer, even those not utilizing the implemented feature.

And you're justifiably infuriated for being forced into buying all those stop signs and mile markers on roads you never drive.

I'm pretty sure he's not a conservative at all--his positions are far more libertarian than conservative. Libertarian positions just have more in common with "conservative" positions than "liberal" positions.

roger that. The Ayn Rand reference should've tipped that off.

What Would Hellen Keller Do?

Well, since she was a member of the socialist party, I'm assuming she'd support the ADA.

ADA's a sore spot with me. My church had to spend $40k for a wheelchair elevator for the stage, so it'd be ADA compliant (and there wasn't enough room to build a ramp at a grade to meet ADA regs). Hasn't been used once, just sitting there collecting dust.

That $40k could have fed and clothed a lot of people...
