Not all of us have endless amounts of cash around, so what are some of the sacrifices for your hobby?
I'll start with a few of mine!
I drive a ugly old 90 Honda Accord, i eat peanut butter and jelly about 4 times a week for lunch, i wear clothes till they fall apart, i don't buy anything out of the vending machines at work, I drink water(no soda), i fixed my wifes $200 hair dryer, i fixed the switch in the lamp, I don't buy cable or satelite tv!

So what are some things you do without?

Work lots of overtime, most in the middle of the night on a call out. Y'all enjoy your lights being on.

Well lets see. I usually further my addiction through my jobs quarterly bonus checks. I havent bought a new gun since april........oh wait i bought a new one to me today but how i did it was a i had a gun on layaway and i switched it for a much cheaper one and i got cash back! lol and i also sell guns i dont want or could do without to get another gun usually. I'm seriously thinking about getting a 2nd job.

Stay away from casinos.
No satellite or cable tv(I've never had either) maybe I'm missing out?
Wife with a good job
Work overtime when permitted
Don't do alot of impulsive buying
Wife would rather have a new gun rather than jewelery etc.
Usually pay cash rather than financing
I usually wear clothes, boots etc. longer than I should
Order water with meal.

I do extra house/yard work and animal upkeep to make life easy so the wife will pick up extra shifts. My job doesn't have the option for extra time.

I usually sell a firearm when buying another. Keeps me honest that way.

This is what I do, too. Also, if a piece in my collection hasn't seen any range time in a year, out the door it goes unless there's a sentimental attachment. IMHO, once a collection has reached a sufficient size and variety, it's silly to tie up any more funds in acquiring more firearms unless you're researching for a publication of useful data.

I agree, if its gathering dust, it gets traded/sold for something more interesting. But when I was younger it was a lot of O/T.
