I think I saw that covered. In that part of the world, phones are useless. They thought (theorized) the plane went higher than the pressurised cabin would cover and all the people on board died of oxygen loss including the pilots. Possibly by a terrorist or suicidal pilot?
Finally ran out of fuel. That area from what I understood has little to no gps coverage. We have areas in the US with little GPS coverage.
I found one in New Mexico in January of this year.
My phone gps was off by more than 10 miles. When calling to get voice directions, we finally found the place we were looking for, and our phone gps still said we were not there.
Another member of this forum was with me and can verify the story.

Just to bring this part of the story up to date, two years ago we were in New Mexico. I passed the road Google maps said I was supposed to be on once again. We had friends in the vehicle, told them the story and went back down to where we discovered this was not the place we were looking for but the directions still said it was years later. Deerslayer of this forum was with me the first time.

Has there been ANY news? I was thinking about this the other day. Need to look into it again.

Parts of it washed up in Madagascar. There are a little tabs that are on the wing aileron flaps. That’s what it looks like to me, but I don’t recall now what the article said. It’s been a few years. There was more junk that washed up on the shores of Madagascar around the same time also. This was a while back during Covid if I recall right
