Ok, I believe we are headed to Kaw. Took a drive over there today and like the Osage (spots along the small cove with walk down access directly below the camp sites) and Bear Creek (camp sites along the sandy beach type shore) areas. Anyone know which area is experiencing the best catfishing right now

The ONLY lake for me is lugert. I can just walk along the shore, pick up a fish, and put it on a hook.

Heck you don't even need to cook it, its already naturally sun dried dehydrated.

Private campgrounds on the east side of Waurika has lake side RV sites. The CoE campgrounds are ALL away from the lake but have good fishing piers; some of them actually reach the water since we have gotten some good rains, mostly catch catfish and perch from the piers.

I don't fish the Osage side of the lake, but I usually have pretty good luck at Bear when the water is coming down the river, as it should be right now with the rain up north. One thing to remember about Bear Creek, is after a rain, that road coming in gets pretty bad. It doesn't take it too long to dry out being sand, but it gets slick enough I've had to use 4wd to get down it right after a rain. It doesn't sound like you are planning on putting a boat out, but if you are, the ramp at Bear should probably be avoided unless you have a flat bottom and put out when the water is up.
