I have eaten at cattleman's hundreds of times in my 60 years and never had a bad steak there and the lamb fries and house salad dressing can't be beat. And yes I have eaten at mahogany, red ,Micky's and every other steak house here and several were as good as cattleman's for twice the price and no lamb fries or house dressings. I think most of the people that talk **** about cattleman's are just trying to be pretentious and act like they are above cattleman's. Eat where you like but if you think cattleman's ain't good you need to get your tongue looked at
I am far from pretentious and I wanted to like Cattleman's because it is more like my kind of place than most of the fancy steakhouses around, but $35 at 1999 prices and leaving hungry took it off of my list.

I can't remember buying very many steaks anywhere in the last twenty years because most are too expensive and leave me disappointed.

I really only remember having a steak at three places ever that I thought were great and two of those were at high dollar places where I ate on the company's dime.

Went to Ken's ( he doesn't own it any more) in Amber couple weeks ago and had the rib eye, it was huge and very good! Had some for breakfast next day.

Ribeye? Or prime rib. I wasn’t aware they started serving ribeye.

Ken was living full time at Lake Eufaula since at least the late 90s. He would come in for 3 days a week to run the restaurant. His daughter ran it for quite a while. He had someone else running after she stopped, but he was still there and I saw his daughter near the restaurant a few times. Had quite a few great conversations with him. He grew many of the vegetables that were on the salad bar.

I hope he is doing well. He would have to be in his mid 80s by now.

Precisely! You guys that don't bat an eye at paying close to 30 dollars (or more :faint:) for a steak, must not hafta work very hard for your money. The steak itself costs less than 10 bucks. So you guys don't mind paying 20 bucks or so for a guy to slap it on the grill, flip it and put it on a plate?

Call me cheap, tight fisted or whatever, but that seems like highway robbery to me.
Where are you buying good man sized steaks for less than $10? Do you eat small portions when you have steak?

Yes, they do. And I am like Glockemdown w/the best one being the one I make. Simons catch is pretty well liked and a place in Duke that I think is called the boars nest.
Yep. Boar's Nest in Duke is pretty good, and BackDoor in Blair is pretty good.
You could always come to SW Oklahoma. Altus and environs is only two hour west ifin you have a heavy foot.
