We had a tree in the yard when I lived in Algiers when I was a kid. I loved 'em. We had a fig tree, too, that grew these massive, apple-sized figs. They were really good.

OMG! Apple-sized FIGS?!?!?!? I really need to move to the tropics. I love bananas ... And figs ... And dates ... And coconut ... And pineapple ... Sigh ...

Dates don't have any kind of digestive effects on me but they are good in oatmeal ... And MaltOMeal. That recipe for bacon wrapped ones?? Yeah ... I thought it made the bacon taste funny.

But then I tried the recipe for bacon wrapped chicken tenders and I didn't like them either. I think I'm a bacon purist. Don't **** with the bacon ...
