We probably won't have a Thanksgiving theme meal anyway. Mom and Dad get a free meal from senior center. Just the two of us , no need to fix a big meal .

Which means I eat a Thanksgiving meal on a pretty regular basis.

Pumpkin pie sucks, pecan pie is too sweet. I think I'll have some deer and cornbread and an Indian gal for dessert.
Dressing and pumpkin pie are like grits for me. I love them or hate them, nothing in between. When done correctly I love it. I’ve had a lot of bland versions of them and it’s horrible.

Who chose the traditional menu? Do people REALLY like all that stuff?

I don't like turkey
I don't like stuffing
I don't like sweet potato/yams
I don't like cranberry stuff
I don't like pumpkin pie

For real, how did THAT become "tradition".

Gimme a steak and mashed potatoes...I'm good.
Tis more for ME!

I used to eat three plates full (back in my teens). Love that food. I would have a dessert plate and pumpkin pie was the center piece. Lately we have went non-trad though. Mexican spread last year, Italian the year before and ribeyes the year before that. Not sure what the women folk are up for this year. As long as its tasty and there is a pumpkin pie, I will be good to go!
