Dennis there's a kid in Edmond with a sawmill. If you have some large trees down or diseased and needing to be taken down he'll come up and do the deed and mill the lumber right there. He usually asks for around a 50/50 split. This kid just bought a brand new $40k Wood-Mizer LT-40 Wide diesel mill and paid cash for it. Big walnut slabs go for big $$$. He's also got contacts with a bunch of developers and goes out when they are clearing. Young guy, one man operation with a couple of kiddos and he's making book on selling lumber. Gotta love that.
These walnut trees are pretty self pruning, dropping lots of wood in high winds. Ours are huge. Some of the limbs are the size of large trees. A small logging company came along the river below the house and logged walnut there and on the neighbor. He came over and told us what he would give us for ours. It was tempting as heck, but the shade value is more to us than the money.
Asked him who he was logging walnut for. It was a gun stock maker in Missouri.

Bingo! We have a winner.
We have about 20+ in our yard. The green husks that were crushed to extract the juice were used by Native Americans back in the day to stun fish in streams and that is where you got the walnut stain for your woodworking projects back in the day. Not sure if they use the husks for stain now or if it's artificial.
Once the husks dry they leave the walnut inside if you want to take the time to break them out, bust em and pick out the meat.
Much easier to buy a bag at the grocers but if anybody is wanting some, I can set you up with a couple hundred pounds for free! You pick em.
It's tough walking across our yard now without turning an ankle.

I got to watch on older man-Joe Echols- long time Grainola resident stun fish with them. I was very young and at that time I thought he was some kind of black magic maker or a fish gathering guru.
