"Bloomberg strikes me as the sort of person who hates people who aren't like him, and he hates to see them enjoying a lifestyle that's different than his."

This is the only part of the post I was commenting on, thus the bolt text.
There is plenty of bashing differing lifestyles and opinions going on right here everyday.

This is the point I was trying to convey, no more, no less.

How's that different than all of the "comiefornia" and "libtard" talk around here? Y'all talk like you hate anyone with different opinions and lifestyles, too. Some folks even brag about loosing facebook friends over differing political opinions.

Seems kind of stupid and petty to me.

I'm pretty sure I'm not trying to pass laws or spend my own money to get laws enacted that persecute other people.

Can't say I've ever criticized people on here for different lifestyles...are you able to link me to a post where I have?

I do refer to California as a Soviet State, seeing as to how they are trampling on the Second Amendment, but I can't say that I've criticized the people of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Kalifornia directly.

I don't have a Facebook account, and I haven't lost any friends due to the current state of affairs.

Can't say I've ever used the term "libtard" on here, and once you get away from the bill of rights, I tend to have some liberal views.

I'd say you're ranting against the wrong person.

On the other hand, Bloomberg has made public statements, as has Feinstein of California, as to what kind of person I am for owning "assault rifles, large capacity mags, carrying a pistol, etc."

I fail to see the point of posting your comment in that case. Free speech means we can comment on the lifestyles of others all we want. No harm, no foul. It's when THEY take it to the next level and actively try to infringe upon our rights that the difference occurs. Can you not see the difference?

I'm not even remotely talking about this. My last post summed it up in the simplest way my feeble mind can conjure.

I'm pointing out similarities in the delivery of the messages from both sides, not the political strong arming of Bloomberg and his money.

While you're explaining things so I can understand, maybe you could explain to me why a bunch of Oklahoma gun owners are so afraid of a New York mayors money and ideas? Does he have stroke in our state government that I don't know about?

20 bucks says his anti-gun money never even buys a second of airtime in this region of the country.

It depends on whether you consider Colorado to be in our region. He spent a LOT of money there in getting the recent anti-gun laws passed, against the the overwhelming will of Colorado's citizens I might add. Queen Cathy is again running for Mayor of Tulsa. As a former member of Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns, are you willing to bet that none of his PAC money will find it's way to her campaign? He has also been a driving force on national gun legislation, which could definitely impact us here in Oklahoma in the future.

The question isn't why are we worried, it's why AREN'T you??? :(

Our state legislature is so anti everything democrat, I'm not seeing what the worry is about. How many liberal type laws get passed in other states that our state government goes out of their way to pass legislation that is the polar opposite? Do you really think our legislature will try to model us after Colorado? Really? You must not have much faith in your elected state officials.

The national anti gun campaign hasn't gained any traction yet, so I'll worry if and when it does. Besides, the majority of folks in charge of this state allow that they won't uphold new federal firearms laws anyway.

Without the overwhelming and prominently vocal opposition to these renewed gun control efforts, the GOP and blue dog democrats would've already rolled over on national legislation. Instead, the gun ban crowd has been rebuffed at almost every turn.

If you didn't send emails, make phone calls, donate any money or otherwise lift a finger in opposition because you'll "worry if and when it does", then thanks for nothing. If you did, then post it up and stop busting our balls why don't you???

We need to find out when and where these Bloomberg commercials air. Then make our displeasure known to the networks and other sponsors advertising in the same time slots. Maybe we can get a little hate and discontent heading his way from an unexpected source?

In case you've not noticed, none of us here are worried about the way the state of Oklahoma has treated gun owners, we're worried about the way Washington is...and $12 million bucks can go a long way.

The reason we fear Bloomberg is because his 12 million dollars may very well know no state boundaries, and the major networks tend to be centered in NYC.

The reason we fear Bloomberg is that he may sway sheeple in other states to demand that their congresspeople pass federal anti-gun laws..and that affects us.

The reason we fear Bloomberg is that he doesn't have to be held accountable for the "facts" that he broadcasts.

The list is endless as to why gun owners fear a guy with as much clout as Bloomberg has who can throw out $12 million to voice his opinions in the brodcast and printed media.

But above all, we have someone who is throwing around $12 million dollars to repeal an amendment.

Would this go a long ways to explaining to you why we fear the mayor of perhaps the most important city in the world?
