Back on point... I've seen ID's bike. A lot. Like every dang day. I've seen the Bridgestones that came off his bike and the new CT thats on it now. With him sitting on it and leaning the bike over like in "ride mode", the CT actually has a bigger contact patch on the ground. Course he's a big boy too, my featherweight butt doesn't even make the suspension sit down.

On stickyness of tires, I've raced Ducati 916's and ZX9's back in the 90's and there were tires out there you couldn't give me to put on one of my bikes, hell no! They wouldn't even get sticky in a blast furnace. I wouldn't hesitate to put a set of Nitto CT's on a cruiser in a heart beat if stickyness was a prerequisite. My Nitto's lasted less than 20k on my Dakota RT that I had, but they sure stuck good! You couldn't even break the tires free if the road and air temp was hot and I had just over 400 hp to the rear and 4:10 posi gears. Those where awesome tires! So, my point is, if Nitto made one the size of what is required under a bike, I'd put a CT under it any day over an MT.

Um... I really don't want to get in this arguement but thought I'd point out that the VMax that set the 242 speed record was a Continental tire... not a murdercycle.

That's why he doesn't let me pilot his bike. I usually spend more time with them flipped over.

Just for info, found a 201.18mph Yamaha VMax. So it is entirely possible it can be done.

Last thing I will say on this,the V-Max LSR bike was a streamliner with chain conversion IIRC.Probably there was only a few Yamaha parts(if any) in it. Steve

if it was such a great ideal im sure there would be alot more of them on the road. i wouldnt do it just because theres no reason imho for it.
