How do you know they aren't doing all that they can humanly do to help themselves?? There is a young single pregnant girl in our town, 22, my daughters best friend, that is working 2 jobs to try to help herself. She has her own apartment and has been saving up for baby expenses since she has no insurance. No public transit where we live so she relies on friends for rides to work. She's never complained about her circumstances.
She needs some help. Baby is due in about 10 weeks and she won't be able to work after that for a while. So I'm trying to get another car fixed up for her. Then I'm going to give it to her and pay the insurance for the next year.
Remember someday you may be the one in need of help. What if other people passed you by and said "Oh, he won't help himself". Think about it.
