More important than what is a moderate is how do we get polar opposites to work together? If we can't find the answer to this question our nation is doomed.

We can pound our collective chests all we want, but government is a lot like a successful marriage, theirs going to have to be some compromise.

Most marraiges end in divorce, not compromise.

First you identify real problems. Then solve or remedy them one at a time. You only have gridlock and real problems when 2 sides cant agree. If you have gridlock, nothing gets addressed or solved. When you have gridlock you get Obamacare.

When there is one party in charge of congress, both sides, and the white house it is NOT gridlock. The Dimocrats had the house, the senate and the president when Obamacare was passed. NOT GRIDLOCK. Gridlock would have been better.

Gridlock can only happen when both parties have enough control to stop whatever the other party wants to do.

Reagan made deals with Dimocrats to prevent gridlock.

Clinton made deals with Republicans to prevent gridlock.

Both Bushes made deals with Dimocrats too prevent gridlock.

The reason we have gridlock now is we have a president that won't compromise. All of the presidents in my adult life have nudged their own parties into compromises that prevented gridlock except for the one we have now.

Gridlck is what the president is for. Our current President is failing and not doing his job.

Exactly! And quite honestly, most of the country wanted healthcare insurance reform. By ignoring this the republicans failed to participate and contribute to the bill. Now we have a pile of crap that isn't helping anyone.

Were you paying attention whe this went through? There were many ideas that Republican congressmen presented that were ignored by the party in charge. Dimocrats had control and would not listen.

Do you remember Obama saying "we won, get over it".
